Calimag delivers lecture; Ramos conducts workshop during APAME 2015 Convention

From July 24-26, 2015, the Asia-Pacific Association of Medical Journal Editors held its convention at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel. This year鈥檚 convention bore the theme 鈥淎dvancing Access to Health Information and Publication: Shifting Paradigms, Trends and Innovations.鈥 Two Thomasian faculty members presented during the conference.

Prof. Ma. Minerva Calimag, PhD, MD, an Advisory Committee Member for Research of the Educational Technology Center and incumbent President of the Philippine Medical Association, delivered a lecture entitled 鈥淭echnology-enhanced Research: Digital Management of Research Workflow.鈥

Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Anna Cherylle M. Ramos, Director of the Educational Technology Center, conducted a seminar-workshop entitled 鈥淒etecting Plagiarism using Open Source and Proprietary-based Tools.鈥 The workshop was attended by medical editors, educators and researchers, who explored a variety of tools that act as both deterrent and educational tools to prevent plagiarism and create opportunities to help users in the proper attribution and citation of sources.
