六合彩直播开奖 College of Fine Arts and Design (CFAD) graduate Ayla Reyes shared her stand on modern beauty standards by promoting inclusivity in her undergraduate thesis titled 鈥ANOMALI鈥. Reyes, from Class 2020, garnered much attention from the general public for her photo collection project that was posted on her personal Facebook page on June 2, 2021. Since then, Reyes and her work have been featured in local news segments and obtained almost 30,000 shares on different social media platforms as of this writing.

Reyes鈥檚 photo collection recreated famous Renaissance-era artworks, such as 鈥淰enus de Milo鈥 and 鈥淭he Thinker,鈥 with persons with disabilities (PWDs) as models. Through this advocacy project, Reyes promoted a more diverse view on beauty by representing people鈥檚 different physical attributes through classical art.

This medium also allowed the 23-year-old photographer to connect more to the themes of art and its history, subjects that she holds close to her heart.听With her advocacy clearly rooted in her deep interest and appreciation for the arts, she won the coveted 鈥淥utstanding Thesis鈥 in 2020.

鈥淚 didn鈥檛 really aim for it, I just wanted to do my best for the advocacy and to create something I鈥檓 really proud of. In CFAD, it’s important for your study to be backed up well so I just really did my best to cover everything I needed to through thorough research. What鈥檚 important to me was that the purpose of the study was met, but the grade was a bonus and definitely rewarding for the effort I put into it,鈥 Reyes shared in an online interview.

The Fine Arts alumna emphasized the media representation of beauty in our generation, specifically how 鈥渢he public figures people admire still look a certain way and are considered the blueprint.鈥

Reyes added that she also went through the phase in which she felt unsatisfied with her appearance, and later on realized that it was only because she was raised to believe that beauty has a specific standard. Today, after enduring such challenging times, she wants to convey her own message of empowerment as she continues to advocate for diversity and inclusivity.

ANOMALI鈥 is a word play of the English word 鈥渁nomaly鈥 which means 鈥渨hat stands out from the norm鈥 and 鈥ano ang mali?鈥 or 鈥渨hat is wrong?鈥 in Filipino.

The project featured 11 muses identified as people with different physical disabilities. By giving attention to these people and making them her muses, Reyes believes that the project can celebrate the fact that beauty is completely, normally different. Since these people have not been represented well, or even enough, in popular media, 鈥淎NOMALI鈥 paves a better way for the disadvantaged as they establish themselves in the field of beauty and media.

Reyes recalled that the most challenging part of her project was logistics. It was crucial for her to prepare as she was not just expected to capture and write, but also to make sure that the theme and concept of her project would translate her message well. It was important for her to prioritize all of the people involved as they played a key role in portraying the reality of her advocacy.

鈥淚 think that society should also do its part in rethinking its perspectives. Inclusion matters! Media has long taught us what it thinks beauty should be, but the time is now to break away from those ideals and standards,鈥 Reyes emphasized.

ANOMALI鈥 was completed under the guidance of her adviser, 六合彩直播开奖 CFAD Dean Asst. Prof. Mary Christie D. Que.

As part of the 鈥楻ide Safe鈥 campaign spearheaded by the City of Manila, creative bike racks designed by Thomasian alumnus Mark Wesley Pahate were installed throughout the city. He obtained his degree in Advertising Arts in 2000 from the 六合彩直播开奖 College of Fine Arts and Design.

The functional artworks aim to encourage more people to use bicycles as a means of transportation and advocate for its sustainability in reducing the urban mobility problem in the City. The bike racks serve the dual purpose of providing an appropriate place to store people鈥檚 bikes and beautifying the surroundings with respect to Filipino culture. The main inauguration of the bike racks was held at the Kartilya ng Katipunan, where the installation 鈥淭abak鈥 is located.

Led by Manila City Mayor Francisco 鈥淚sko Moreno鈥 Domagoso, the ceremony was also graced by the presence of German Embassy Deputy Head of Mission Laura Oexle, Allianz PNB Life Chief Executive Officer and President Alexander Grenz, Allianz PNB Life Chief Marketing Officer Gino Riola, PNB Group Head for Luzon Bernie Punsalan, PNB North Metro Manila Region Head Carlos Leytte, Manila City Vice Mayor Maria Sheilah 鈥淗oney鈥 Lacuna-Pangan, M.D., Manila Police District Director PBGen. Leo Francisco, and the Director of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Arts of Manila Charlie Du帽go.

Simultaneous inaugurations were also conducted at the remaining three installations. At the Rajah Sulayman Park in Roxas Boulevard where 鈥淎lon鈥 is located, the inauguration was initiated by Allianz PNB Life Digital Brand Manager Kenneth Yu, Parks and Development Office Director Giovanni Evangelista, and Department of Public Services Director Kenneth Amurao.

For the 鈥淜alesa鈥 bike rack located at Plaza Roma, Intramuros Administration Head Atty. Guiller Asido and Allianz PNB Life Bancassurance Distribution Partner Head Bernadette Jalandoni-Pantoja inaugurated the artwork.
The Allianz PNB Life PNB Bancassurance Head and Vice President Carol Bernas, and Department of Engineering and Public Works Director Engr. Armando Andres attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony held at Liwasang Bonifacio where the installation art 鈥淢aya鈥 bike rack is found.

The design of the bike racks revolves around the overall theme of 鈥渞eminisces of Manila鈥, which Pahate is well-versed in as a Manile帽o himself. 鈥淢aya鈥 looks like a bird鈥檚 wings, 鈥淭abak鈥 is designed to look like swords to symbolize the courage of Andres Bonifacio and the Katipuneros, while 鈥淎lon鈥 is inspired by the Manila Bay and the sunset, and 鈥淜alesa” has the likeness of horse-drawn carriage wheels.

Pahate, whose previous works have won a Gold Anvil from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines and an Excellence Award from the Philippine Quill, now runs and owns Eggshell Worldwide Communications, a boutique agency that aims to provide communication and design solutions in digital, non-traditional, and classic advertising. Prior to starting his own agency, he was an art director at McCann-Erickson and Harrison Communications.
The 鈥楻ide Safe鈥 campaign is an advocacy partnership between the city of Manila and insurance firm Allianz PNB Life in collaboration with the German Embassy in the Philippines.
