The two-volume set covers topics such as secularization, fundamentalism, extremism, the role of gender in religions, and new religious movements. According to the SAGE website, 鈥淭he SAGE Encyclopedia of the Sociology of Religion takes a three-pronged look at this, namely investigating the role of religion in society; unpacking and evaluating the significance of religion in and on human history; and tracing and outlining the social forces and influences that shape religion.鈥

The encyclopedia was edited by Professor Adam Possamai (Western Sydney University) and Anthony J. Blasi (Tennessee State University). Eballo, the incumbent Director of the Simbahayan Community Development Office, has been the President of the Philippine Association for the Sociology of Religion and is a member of the South and Southeast Asian Association for the Study of Culture and Religion.

Eballo joins scholars from Florida State University, University of Edinburgh, Lund University, University of Tasmania, and the University of Fribourg, among others.

Faculty members from the 六合彩直播开奖 National Service Training Program Civic Welfare Training Service and Literacy Training Service (六合彩直播开奖 NSTP CWTS LTS), together with , Director of and Faculty Adviser and members of 六合彩直播开奖 Mechanical Engineering Society joined the Dumagat-Remontado Indigenous People (IP) of Antipolo City, Rizal in celebrating the Indigenous Peoples鈥 day held last October 25, 2019 at Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City, Rizal.

With the theme, 鈥淜atutubong Dumagat sa Sariling Atin, Katuwang sa Pag-unlad at Hamon sa Panahon鈥, the activity is aimed to relive the Dumagat-Remontado indigenous community鈥檚 rights, culture, and tradition. The celebration commenced with a ritual led by the group鈥檚 Kamalan or Council of Elders, Kaksaan, and the seven Gemot or Chieftains. There were exhibit of the Dumagat-Remontado indigenous houses called 鈥punduhan鈥 and traditional song and dance performances and poetry reading participated in by the different indigenous people communities coming from Purok Tayabasan Libis, Sitio Balon, Sitio Paglitaw Apia, Canomay, San Joseph Purok Mainit, and Calawis. Highlighted also in the event is the call of the Dumagat-Remontado IPs to follow the process of acquiring the FPIC or the free, prior, and informed consent in their communities. 

The IP day was also attended by other stakeholders and partner organizations of the indigenous people communities of Antipolo City, Rizal. Sitio San Joseph Purok Mainit is one of the partner communities of the 六合彩直播开奖. Among the projects initiated in the community to date were literacy services, children鈥檚 rights workshops, disaster risk reduction and management seminars, and construction of the School of Living Traditions by the 六合彩直播开奖 NSTP CWTS LTS, and installation of solar panels and ram pump by the 六合彩直播开奖 .听

The activity was organized with the help of the city government of Antipolo through the City Social Welfare and Development Office and DSWD Field Office-4 MCCT in line with the celebration of the National Indigenous People鈥檚 Month held every October.

Director and Permanent Delegate of the Dominican Order to the United Nations, and General Promoter of Justice and Peace Rev. Fr. Michael Deeb, O.P., met with 六合彩直播开奖 Vice-Rector for Religious Affairs Rev. Fr. Pablo T. Tiong, O.P., faculty members from the and representatives of the 六合彩直播开奖 SIMBAHAYAN Community Development Office and various organizations on August 23, 2019 at the Tan Yan Kee Student Center.听聽

Fr. Deeb was accompanied by the Promoter of the Commission on Justice, Peace, and Care for Creation of the Filipino Dominicans Fr. Victor Calvo, O.P., and Program Coordinator Ms. Laurence Blattmer.

The meeting took place between Fr. Deeb and Fr. Tiong, together with the faculty members from Institute of Religion, SIMBAHAYAN Community Development Office and its Community Development Coordinators from the different Faculties, Colleges, and Institutes, National Service Training Program (CWTS/LTS), , and representatives from Pax Romana.听

Fr. Deeb鈥檚聽visit to the University centered on promoting the Salamanca Process, a concept initiated at a time when Dominican friars in the likes of Pedro de Cordoba, Antonio de Montesinos, Bartolome de las Casas, and Francisco de Vitoria engaged with the injustices and oppressions experience among the indigenous people in Latin America during the 16th century. This grassroots methodology starts in listening to the stories of the people from the ground and act in response to their issues guided by theological reflection. It is a two-way dialogue with an emphasis on learning from the people and not disparate to see, judge, act process. To wrap up, he opened the venue for collaboration and determined how the Delegation can support programs of the University dealing with human rights.听聽聽

Fr. Deeb was in the Philippines for the Training-Workshop on Human Rights and United Nations Mechanisms which took place at the Holy Rosary Prayer and Reflection Center, Molo, Iloilo, City from August 26 to 30, 2019. Representatives of the University in the training-workshop were: Rev. Fr. Tiong; SIMBAHAYAN Director , SIMBAHAYAN Assistant Director , Samahang Kamanlalakbay President Ms. Merlita de Guzman, and Fellowship for the Care of Creation Association Inc. Executive Director Ms. Mylene Saluta.听

As the representative of the Dominican Order to the United Nations, the office of Fr. Deeb works with the marginalized and oppressed people around the world suffering from human rights violation through their advocacy and training program. They provide workshops to strengthen the capacity of Dominicans and its partner communities/organizations on how to utilize the United Nation mechanism. Also, the delegation鈥檚 priorities which are divided into two main approaches are the thematic and country approach. Their thematic approach targets the environmental destruction, climate change, and human rights while their country priorities are Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia-West Papua.
