Arch鈥檛. Marc Henrich Go, alumnus and board topnotcher of the University鈥檚 Bachelor of Science in Architecture program, was commissioned as the Principal Photographer of the postwar Manila Cathedral鈥檚 60th dedication anniversary book, launched March 10, 2019.
According to Go, the postwar focus presented the challenge of 鈥淸capturing] this classic edifice, yet [interpreting] it in a fresh modern way to allow the viewers to see the Cathedral in a new perspective.鈥� The project, which took more than a year to finish, was aimed at 鈥淸allowing] one to appreciate the cathedral edifice vis-a-vis its role in the lives of the Filipino people and the larger context of history.鈥�
What came out was a 鈥渃omprehensive and creative presentation of the postwar cathedral鈥檚 art, architecture, events that make and made it a significant place for the people, and the process that has gone into preserving the edifice.鈥�

Go partnered with Prof. Gerald Lico, the book鈥檚 editor and the one who selected Go for the work. The project was spearheaded by His Eminence Luis Antonio Cardinal G. Tagle, D.D. and the Manila Cathedral Foundation.
