With the theme 鈥�Ang Tahanan at Pamayanan bilang mga Tagapagturo ng Wika, Kultura at Salin,鈥� the webinar was held in observance of this year鈥檚 Buwan ng Wika.
Asst. Prof. Alvin Ringgo Reyes, Chair of the Secondary Education Department of the College of Education, underscored the role of family and the community in teaching Filipino and native languages, culture, and identity to students in the diaspora.
An authentic home-school partnership, which involves collaboration and triangulation of home-school-community, will make the school experience more meaningful, he explained.
Reactors include Assoc. Prof. Rosalyn G. Mirasol, PhD, from the 六合彩直播开奖 Department of English, and Loreta Laririt, who teaches at the International Philippine School Jeddah (IPSJ).
Participants of the webinar are teachers of Philippine schools in Jeddah, including Durat Al Sharq International School (DASIS) and IPSJ, members of the Philippine International Schools Teachers鈥� Association (PISTA), a professional organization for teachers in Jeddah and the Western Region of Saudi Arabia, and educators from the Philippines.
